A 24-year-old man presents to the after-hours clinic complaining of a foreign body sensation in his left eye. Six hours earlier he was working in his garage and felt a “speck of metal” fly into his eye while hammering a nail. He was not wearing eye protection. On examination the patient’s visual acuity is 6/6 bilaterally. Slit lamp examination of the left eye is shown above.
