What should I recommend to the children and adolescents in my clinic regarding cognitive rest following mild concussion?Answer Strict cognitive rest is not needed in those with mild concussion. Evidence suggests a decrease in usual activity to a level that allows children to remain asymptomatic, followed by a gradual return to learning, is appropriate. It is clear that either too little or too much activity is disadvantageous to recovery and can worsen outcomes.
