    Citation Excerpt :

Charon and Wyer (2008) contend that narrative medicine can disrupt the notions of an evidence hierarchy and the still objective nature of evidence-based medicine1, calling for narrative evidence-based medicine. This approach is consistent with the growing interest in the unknown/unknowable, the particular, and the self (Charon & Wyer, 2008), attributes of body image. They argue that narrative medicine is the methods by which evidence-based medicine can be fully realized.
