I would like to thank Dr. Roland Grad for his recommendation to test this proposed algorithm in both training and practice. The Mount Sinai Hospital library would like to pursue this research. And hence, we would like to welcome anyone interested in participating in this study to please contact me or our library at library@mtsinai.on.ca

I was interested by the proposed algorithm of evidence based resources. It would be important to put this algorithm to the test, in both training and practice environments. For example, in real-world tests, family physicians may or may not rank InfoPOEMs in tier two.

I was interested by the proposed algorithm of evidence based resources. It would be important to put this algorithm to the test, in both training and practice environments. For example, in real-world tests, family physicians may or may not rank InfoPOEMs in tier two.

It is feasible to test this algorithm, given the participation of authors and commercial entities that produce evidence-based resources. For example, 40 Canadian FPs are presently using an Information Assessment Method (IAM) as an outcome measure in a naturalistic study of health information retrieval. [1] This study uses IAM to document the cognitive impact, relevance and use of health information retrieved from multiple resources within a commercial search engine. Given that IAM passes successfully through this validation study, future work could evaluate and compare the outcome of searches within multiple electronic resources, from the clinician's perspective. The end result would be a proven algorithm for information retrieval.
