  • Palliative Care as a specialty

    Palliative Care as a specialty
    • Julian C Abel, Consultant in Palliative Care

Palliative Care has been recognised as a speciality in the UK for a number of years, with well established training programs. It is surprising that Dr Vinay did not refer to this in his article.

There is also in the UK a recognition of specialist versus generalist palliative care, and it seems he is referring to the role of the family physician as generalist rather than specialist.

    Competing Interests: None declared.
