
A 77-year-old man presents with a several-month history of intense pruritus and a 2-week history of a widespread eruption consisting of multiple tense vesicles and bullae arising on both normal-appearing and erythematous skin. There are no oral mucosal findings. His medical history is relevant for type 2 diabetes mellitus and hypertension, for which he takes metformin and felodipine, respectively.
