Chang and Gupta's review of EMR adoption in Canada is once again a sad example of researchers ignoring Canada's north and CFP's editors letting them get away with it. The NWT has an EMR that has revolutionized care. One doesn't have to personally know Ewan Affleck (family doctor extraordinary and Order of Canada recipient who has spear-headed the implementation) to find out this information. Googling "Does the NWT have an EMR?" reveals the answer is 0.64 seconds. I expect my Canadian colleagues to take the time to include the north in their research. Northerners have lead the way in telehealth and innovative solutions to care over huge geographical regions. Ignoring the north deprives readers of potential knowledge. I encourage CFP's editors to ask those who submit articles for publication to do more thorough work.
