It would be helpful if the the authors could provide a reference that supports their claim that, "most family medicine residents take longer than 2 years (2.16 years in 2006 for IMGs) to complete their programs." Simply because the mean completion time is more than two years does not mean that most residents take longer than two years. This is an important distinction because if more than 50% ("most") family medicine residents were not completing the program in 2 years it would suggest a significant problem with our training programs.
