Cover Image

The July cover image, entitled Tinnitus Trumpeters, is by multidisciplinary artist Steve Niilo. It illustrates how tinnitus can greatly affect a patient’s physical and psychological quality of life. Tinnitus is very common, affecting more than 40% of Canadians at least once in their lifetime. It can be very difficult to treat and in many chronic cases it cannot be cured. Most patients with tinnitus, however, can be managed conservatively by family physicians. This issue includes a practical approach to assessing and managing tinnitus and to helping patients cope with their symptoms (page 491).
