Cover Image

Artist May Mutter has struggled with the sequelae of concussion since experiencing 4 in close succession in 2013. Through her book A Caged Mind she has collaborated with photographers and real-life models who also know first-hand how concussions can change your life. Using the models as her canvas, May transformed them using her talent as a body painter to bring to the surface the largely invisible disability and depict what daily life can feel like. This month’s cover features Frances Minhas, whose story and experience are detailed in A Caged Mind. Managing concussions can pose challenges, and family physicians have an important role to play. This issue offers practical tips for physicians during the 3 stages of concussion care (page 198).
