Cover Image

This month’s cover image, Speak Not, is a self-portrait of a mother of 4 who has lived with fibromyalgia for 24 years. She strives to “speak not” with shame that she is sick with an invisible and little-understood disorder, but instead to speak with pride that she still has the courage and will to face each day with creativity and grace. This month’s Art of Family Medicine piece (page 126) also speaks to the challenges of disorders like fibromyalgia and to the resilience of those who live with such diagnoses.
