This issue features a commentary on shifting the lens of the current Framework on Palliative Care in Canada (page 642). The authors suggest that if we wish to improve our experiences in the last stage of life, then future attention needs to focus on communities and social structures. The Framework does highlight the need for increased community capacity in underserviced populations, but the success of any national framework for palliative care also depends on a groundswell of national societal engagement. Our cover image Kiss in the Rain hangs in Hospice Georgian Triangle’s Campbell House Palliative Care Residence. Their art project aims to decorate the halls of Campbell House with art created by local artists that reflects the unique beauty and landscape of the Georgian Bay area.
