Tundra in Canada’s Arctic, with softly rolling hills surrounding a sky-blue lake, is littered with rusted oil drums and a discarded truck tire. This month’s cover image of a garbage dump in Nunavut reminds us that the pollution of land and water in Indigenous and racialized communities is still prevalent today. A commentary (page 567) in this issue explores the topic of environmental racism further, advocating for better environmental practices to improve the health and well-being of Canadians. Moreover, an overview (page 595) of mild asthma in adults and adolescents highlights the high carbon footprint of metered-dose inhalers.
