How broadly should preventive screening be applied to osteoporosis and fragility fractures? This month’s cover image of a bone structure with osteoporosis highlights a Prevention in Practice article (page 537) about the time demands of screening and benefits of a risk assessment–first strategy for fragility fractures. Other articles in this month’s issue of Canadian Family Physician examine comprehensiveness of care provided by 2 generations of family physicians (page 550) and challenge a perception that newer FPs are not prepared for full-scope practice (page 524), whereas a letter from the CFPC responds to related misconceptions about education reforms regarding the extension of family medicine residency (page 522).
