The article 'Racism as a determinant of health and health care' by Ramsoondar N et al. (v. 69; Sept 2023) expresses some noteworthy points.

The social construct of race is inextricably linked to class. The race-class combination is extremely important as a factor in inequality, and a socioeconomic determinant of health. Once stereotyping and value judgements are applied to different ethnicities, and are ingrained, then racism and racialization become banal.
