Hosp Top. 1986 Nov-Dec;64(6):11-7. doi: 10.1080/00185868.1986.9952447.

Abstract

Much has been written about the role conflict, job tension, and high turnover among hospital employees. There is no doubt that the healthcare environment provides a complex and frustrating working climate for the most dedicated professional employee, and the cost of absenteeism and turnover is a serious problem for healthcare administrators. This report reviews a one-year intervention project at a major western hospital that utilized the Quality Circle process to improve employee withdrawal precursors and behavior.
