A 25-year-old man presented with a 1-year history of asymptomatic skin eruptions that started on the lower back and progressed slowly toward the interscapular area and posterior neck. Examination revealed erythematous, slightly hyperpigmented, confluent patches over the midline of the back. They were scaly and well-demarcated, and they had a more reticulated appearance at the periphery. The patient was otherwise healthy, was not taking any medications, and had no family history of a similar condition.
